[Did you want a report, Stephen? Because you're about to get one.]
Cesare is son of the Pope, roughly fifteenth century. Italy. Earth. His attitudes and bigotry reflect that, and he's inflexible in changing them for the people or society here. Whether that's due to arrogance or ignorance isn't something I've spent enough time with him to tell. His initial encounters with Quentin were antagonistic, largely caused by a personal disagreement and Cesare's internalised homophobia. The animosity has dropped off since, but considering the lack of basic respect for Quentin as a person in how Cesare spoke to me when visiting him in January, I doubt it's truly going as well as Quentin thinks it is.
Cesare's also been engaging in an experiment to keep himself in a state of partial transformation. It's an attempt to gain strength, but it's soured the Rubeans against him. Since his marriage with Gilia has been annulled, he's left himself with a lot of enemies and no real allies, likely leading to his unchecked ambition being checked relatively soon.
Felipe seems to be from an equivalent time period, non-Earth world. Similar retention of prejudice and social attitudes, but more flexibility in interactions with others and more sexually promiscuous, with all genders. He's been openly accused of several incidents of misogynistic treatment of women, and has exhibited narcissistic and manipulative behaviours. Holds a grudge when slighted, whether intentional or perceived. He's been murdered twice, once by Danny, due to his attentions on Quentin. The second time you might have more knowledge of than me.
